“A group of young men approached a man called Noel McKendry who at the time was in the Freeman Memorial.
He saw that there was a need for a band in the Ballysally Estate in Colerine and so in September 2009 the Ballysally Young Defenders was born.

The band has roughly 30 members, 5 drums, 2 cymbals and the rest are fluters and with a few learners. Their website is Ballysally Young Defenders”
