A GLASGOW Orange Order hall has been hit with pro-IRA and anti-Protestant graffiti.
The Parkhead Orange Hall on Quaaryknowe Street was targeted with the vile vandalism, which also referenced the Holocaust, by yobs overnight.
The shocking sectarian graffiti reads: “The IRA will always be around”.
Another outer wall of the lodge was spray-painted with the words: “Six million Jews and it should have been Protestants”.
It’s understood the vandalism has been reported to Police Scotland.
Grand Master Jim McHarg slammed the graffiti as he said: “It’s another attack on our halls and the protestant community.
“It is really disappointing people can act like this, and there is an anger and frustration over it. This is total hate towards the Protestant community.
“People don’t want to see that on any building.
“Are we being pushed aside for our beliefs? The abuse seems to be accepted.
“I think it is horrendous to involve the Jewish community and reference the Holocaust. My heart goes out to the Jewish community.”
Mr McHarg also called for a taskforce to be set up to protect the Protestant community as he urged Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf to slam the graffiti.
He added: “I think there should be some sort of taskforce to protect the Orange Halls and the wider Protestant community.
“Are we going to have to wait until someone is attacked or killed before any action?
“I’m looking for some public condemnation from the First Minister and Justice Secretary.”
Nil by Mouth Director Dave Scott said: “This sort of incident is grim enough in normal times but to think that bigoted morons have gone to such lengths during a pandemic when people from all walks of life are working together to prevent deaths is a damning indictment of their mentality and how deep down the hole of prejudice they are.”
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
