Downshire Guiding Star Flute Band Annual Band Parade

Friday 11th September 2020

We would ask people to support and respect our band by adhering to all social distancing rules and government guidelines.

Downshire Guiding Star Flute Band has talked to relevant authorities and completed a risk assesment to comply with government regulations on cultural gatherings of more than fifteen people with safety measures and control put in place.

Do not follow the band on parade
Do not gather in large groups to watch the parade
– If you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 do not go up the town to watch

Downshire Guiding Star will be marking the annual band parade date this year by parading our town as normal and laying a wreath for L/CPL Stephen McKee, Wee Walter as he was known within the band.

There will be a collection by Hiking for Little Heroes for the two children cancer charities that they are raising money via the Kilimanjaro challenge.

We are disappointed we cannot have our parade as normal with the bands from all over the UK but we will be back bigger and better in 2021.
