Police probe criminal damage after Union Flag is cut from NHS support banner at Dunloy Orange Hall

POLICE are investigating a report of criminal damage after a Union Flag was cut out of a banner which was put up at Dunloy Orange Hall in support of the NHS and essential workers.

DUP councillor, Alderman John Finlay – who is a member of the loyal orders in Dunloy – condemned the incident.

He said: “Banner put up this morning supporting NHS now destroyed this evening.

“Shameful act by Republican thugs. Could not even have this left alone”.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police have received a report of damage to a banner which had been placed outside Dunloy Orange Hall, supporting the NHS.

“The damage has been caused today, Wednesday the 06/05/2020 between 07:30 and 19:30 hours. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101 and quote serial number 1862 – 06/05/2020.”
