The Belfast Junior County Lodge has announced the postponement of its traditional Junior Orange Association of Ireland parade which was due to take place on Easter Tuesday.
A spokesman for Belfast Junior County said: “It is with much disappointment that we have taken the decision to postpone the planned parade and family fun day on Easter Tuesday. The health and well-being of our members and supporters is the overarching reason for this postponement.”
“However, following advice from the Public Health Agency on how we can safely deliver the planned parade and fun day, we have taken the decision to postpone the event until such times as the risk posed by COVID-19 (coronavirus) has been significantly reduced.”
The spokesman added: “We are considering new dates for the Junior’s parade and will release further information regarding this when it is appropriate to do so.”
